Validation Institute Verifies Health Performance Claim through Objective, Third-Party Process
Portsmouth, N.H. – April 16, 2019 – USPM is pleased to announce successful completion of validation of USPM’s Preventive Plan® by the Validation Institute. The Validation Institute tests the accuracy of health care performance claims by health care vendors. USPM’s Preventive Plan® joins the more than 40 validated programs representing several different areas of health care services and products.
“In a booming industry filled with performance promises that often seem too good to be true, it’s essential for high-quality, value-based, and cost-conscious vendors to stand out and rise to the top for the benefit of today’s health care populations and users, ” said RD Whitney, CEO of the Validation Institute.
“It is a privilege and an honor to be recognized again by the Validation Institute (VI) with this new validation of USPM’s compelling health risk reductions and analytical measurement methodologies,” said Ron Loeppke, M.D., MPH, FACOEM, FACPM, Vice Chairman of U.S. Preventive Medicine. “This second validation by the VI demonstrates USPM’s unparalleled results across our entire suite of Population Health Management services – highlighting the effectiveness of our Preventive Plan® Wellness and Health Coaching programs in reducing health risks. USPM now stands alone in the wellness industry having two validations proving our outcomes in both Health Coaching and Disease Management, the latter reveling an unmatched 41% reduction in Hospital and ER visits across several chronic conditions.”
Dr. Loeppke added, “Being officially verified through the Validation Institute’s objective, third-party process lends our program even more credibility and trust in the market place – helping us stand out from the crowd in more meaningful ways. It is gratifying to see that we are accomplishing our mission of helping improve the lives of those we serve, while reducing healthcare costs.”.
Through a rigorous process, the Validation Institute’s Population Health Scientists systematically review the analytical elements—the data sources, data, and calculations—of a vendor’s performance claims to see whether they align with the promised results. In this way, Validation Institute’s “stamp of approval” acts as a signal to health care purchasers that the program is trustworthy, bolstering the purchaser’s due diligence and confidence in their health care selections.
