Portsmouth, N.H. – (June 20, 2019) – Validation Institute, an independent, objective, 3rd party organization focused on changing healthcare, brought together industry experts and Human Resources leaders at the Fedex Institute of Technology in Memphis on June 19, 2019.
More than 50 attendees immersed themselves in a day long discussion focused on delivering better health value and stronger outcomes than conventional healthcare. Vidar Jorgensen, a private investor and board of directors member with Conscious Capitalism Inc., opened the day by asking employers if they thought their company could reduce their all-in health care spend by 20% in year one and 40% in year five. Throughout the event, expert speakers and panelists demonstrated how a company could in fact do just that.
“We are thrilled to be in Memphis and to continue our road trip across America educating the buyers of health care. We believe that health care costs and outcomes will be significantly changed for the better when health care purchasers can confidently understand options and negotiate the best outcomes for employees. Validation Institute believes health care purchasers can use the “power of the purse” to achieve this,” said RD Whitney, CEO, Validation Institute.
In addition to receiving portions of the Certified Health Value Professional (CHVP) program offered through Validation Institute, attendees heard from leaders in recruiting who emphasized the importance of health care in a future employee’s decision making process and the importance of defining your employee value proposition to include health care benefits. An employer panel also focused on how to achieve practical, real-world applications of the day’s learnings once attendees returned to their offices.
Whitney ended the day by sharing this: “On behalf of Validation Institute, thank you to our attendees for taking the time out of your busy day to join the effort to change health care purchasing. We are extremely grateful to our sponsors, panelists and keynotes for being part of this event. ”
